Choosing the right pool cover
How to choose your pool cover?
Looking for a pool cover? BACHES DIRECT can help you find the right cover for your needs.
We offer two main families of pool covers:
- The HDPE cover with drainage net is the ideal compromise for small budgets! This cover can be used for both above-ground and in-ground pools. Resistant, it withstands outdoor exposure for around 2 years. Thanks to its drainage mesh, the HDPE cover will let the water run off during inclement weather. This cover is available for both round and rectangular pools.
- PVC covers made in France are a reliable, long-lasting investment! You can use it as a winter cover, but also for all other seasons. Highly resistant, it is treated to resist UV rays, moss and fungus. It is tear-proof and rot-proof, with a lifespan of around 10 years! This PVC tarpaulin is available in two ranges: a PVC tarpaulin with a central drainage net that prevents water pockets from appearing, and a fully waterproof PVC tarpaulin with the same treatment and quality as the one with drainage net.

How to measure your pool?
It's important to know how to measure your pool so that you have the right dimensions for your cover. This way, your pool cover will provide complete protection.
MEASURE A ROUND POOL:
First measure the diameter of your round pool, then add 30 cm of overhang on each side, for a total of 60 cm.
MEASURE A RECTANGULAR POOL :
For an above-ground pool, measure the inside dimensions of your pool, then add 50cm to 1m for a peripheral overhang. outside edge at the most
For an in-ground pool, repeat the same operation, simply adding half the width of your coping if you want to drill a hole in it. If not, add the width of your entire coping to make an outside hole.
Don't forget custom-made pool covers...
Once you've decided on the type of cover you'd like, and the right dimensions in your pocket, it's time to choose your pool cover based on these criteria. From HDPE to PVC with optional drainage mesh, BÂCHES DIRECT offers a wide choice of covers.
However, it sometimes happens that the standard dimensions don't fit your pool, or that you can't find a pool cover that meets 100% of your requirements: size, shape, color...

Tying your pool cover is easy
Before winterizing your pool, remember to treat your water first, so that there are no surprises when you uncover it.
There must be no gap between the edge of the pool and the liner, otherwise the liner's ability to filter vegetation will be impaired.
To ensure that the center of the cover rests on the water, a sufficient water level must be maintained. The pool's overflow must be in working order; rainwater will flow through it into the pool with the filter grid.
ATTACHING YOUR ROUND POOL LINTER above-ground pool:
The HDPE round pool cover is sold with a metal cable so you can go around your pool.
ATTACHING YOUR RECTANGULAR POOL COVER:
There are several options, depending on whether your pool is above-ground or not;
For above-ground pools: install stakes on your pool, or on the ground, according to the distance between the eyelets. Using a 9 mm bungee cord, thread the rope through the eyelets, passing through the stakes. The advantage of the bungee cord is that it is highly resistant. Thanks to its flexibility, it will give your pool cover a certain amount of float during periods of strong wind.
For in-ground pools: if you want to drill through your coping, it's important to install your hooks in the middle of your coping to ensure maximum support and avoid cracks. Once your hooks have been installed on the inside or outside of your coping, use bungee cords to thread them through your eyelets and hooks.
